Moon Knight – Marvel Legends Vulture Wave

Moving on to the comic characters of the Vulture Series, we have Moon Knight. There is a LOT of love out there for this guy.

Think of him as Marvel’s answer to Batman. A fairly regular guy that runs around in a suit and beats people up. He has multiple personalities and a lot of cool gadgets. This version of Moon Knight is his more recent attire where he wears more of a shielded armor on his body. He has kept the white cape and the pointed hood. The hood and cape are separate pieces. The cape has a peg that is supposed to connect to the back of Moon Knight to keep it in place. I have found it to fall out of place any time he is moved.

Moon Knight comes with a bunch of accessories. He comes with a staff (same as Daredevil and a few other characters), one big moon weapon, three small moon weapons, and alternate fist hands.

I haven’t found a good way to use the small moon weapons, but he can hold the larger moon as well as the staff.

This is the second Moon Knight we have gotten from Marvel Legends. It was actually in the last series (MODOK series) where ToyBiz had control of the license back in 2006. Flash ahead 11 years, and he has made a return.

The first version had less of a black color to the costume, and more of a gunmetal. At ToyBiz, they loved the articulation, and they made their hands with finger articulation. That was neat in theory, but it made for pretty weak grasping hands, and the fists looked terrible.
He also had a cape that wrapped around him, and looks like it is always trying to give him a hug.

This is new version is an improvement over the first version. ToyBiz did a great job with creating the highly articulated figures we have today, but Hasbro has continued to work on the details, and has continued to make some great costumes.

Relating Moon Knight to Spider-Man goes all the way back to September, 1978 in Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man Vol 1 22. They meet for the first time in that issue and fight one another until they see that they are fighting for the same thing, and team up in the next issue. Moon Knight and Spider-Man will meet many more times over the years. This Wave Team-Up works for me.
