Power Rangers Legacy 6.5 inch figures – In Space Pink Ranger (Wave 3 Continued)

I thought we would never get to see the other end of Wave 3. I had to go back and see when I posted about the first part of Wave 3. That was back in April. Now here it is in December. There have been some missteps along the way, most notably in the Power Ranger pegs for Legacy figures being filled with Mighty Morphin’ Pink and In Space Yellow Rangers. There are always complaints that girl figures don’t sell. Well, we didn’t see a bunch of Mighty Morphin’ Yellow hanging around, so it is only certain female figures I guess.

Well, I haven’t seen them in the wild, but the rest of wave 3 (In Space Blue, Black, and Pink) have started to hit the stores. I found this In Space Pink Ranger on Amazon for normal price. The Blue and Black are going for outrageous amounts. I will keep my eyes out. I am hearing that Walgreens is the place to go, so I will venture out to some in the next week.

Well, today we are taking a look at Cassie Chan. Cassie was the third Pink Ranger in the series after Kimberly and Katherine. Seems that she should have been names “Kassie” to keep up with the ‘k’ names, but oh well. She and Ashley were the only two characters to move from Turbo to In Space and retain their colors.

Cassie is her in all of her pink glory. I am a fan of the In Space outfits. They carried over a bit of yellow from Turbo, and it is reflected in their neck triangle.

First time watching the show, I wasn’t too fond of the color rectangles going across the chest. I did however get to like it later as it shows all of the team reflected in each outfit.

Cassie comes with her Blade Blaster and holster. I think the weapon is a bit out of proportion, a bit big for the figures. The colors are really well done on the weapons. I am impressed that we got silver, black, red AND gold represented on the little guns.

As with the rest of the figures, Cassie comes with a piece to build the Astro Megazord. She brings the right arm.

The team is coming together, slowly but surely. There have been announcements for the next few waves, including the Psycho Rangers, which also tie into In Space. That will mean there will be 12 figures all together for In Space including the Silver Ranger and the Astro Megazord. I doubt any other show will top that number, save for the Mighty Morphin’ team coming out a second time with metallic paint.

We will also be seeing Dino Thunder, Zeo, and Ninja Steel. It seems to me that they should have brought out Ninja Steel a bit earlier to coincide with the show, and hopefully bring some new fans to the 6.5 inch line. Oh well, I am not in charge. I will be sitting here waiting to find the figures as we move into 2018.

Power Rangers Legacy Wave 2

How in the world did I miss posting this set? I looked down the backlog of figures I have photographed, and there sits this beautiful team ready to go.

This time around, the focus has shifted away from the three member team of Ninja Storm, to the larger team of In Space. Of course, we are still getting members of the Mighty Morphin team as we continue to fill that team as well.

First up is the Red Ranger. Andros is set up here in the standard body that we see in our males. He comes with the Astro Blaster and the holster to hold it in. The figures come with great articulation and lots of good clean paint.

Andros comes with the body to the Astro Megazord. It is clean and well done. I think it is going to look great when all complete.

Along with Andros, we get the In Space Yellow Ranger, Ashley. Ashley is on the female body. The female bodies are smaller versions of the male bodies, but more feminine. Ashley wears the yellow skirt that is a bit restrictive for the legs, but not as bad as the older 5 inch figures that had very tight rubber skirts that didn’t move.

Ashley comes with the left leg of Astro Megazord. The details on the Megazords are outstanding. So far, we have the Ninja Storm Megazord complete. This guy has a ways to go.

MMPR

Moving on, we are getting a few more of the MMPR team. The Blue Ranger, Billy looks great. There is something about the blue that pops just right. As with Jason, Billy comes with the Blade Blaster. It is in the folded up configuration. It would have been so nice to get a second version in the gun mode.

Billy of course comes with the triceratops left leg.

After Billy comes Zach, our Black Ranger. Just like the Blue Ranger, the Black Ranger just looks cool. I think it has something to do with the darker paint that makes these guys look really good.

Since Zach uses the Mastodon, and the body is paired up with the T-Rex, we already have the torso. So Zach comes with one of Megazord’s arms.

Sweet, sweet, Kimberly. The crush of many, and a great fighter. As the Pink Ranger, she was under attack many times for being thought of as the girl in pink on the team. But she is a tough one. Her outfit looks great. It will be great to pair her up with Trini, in the next wave.

As with Zach, Kimberly’s pterodactyl is a part of the torso, so she comes with an arm. With that, the Megazord is starting to look nearly complete. It is missing a tiger leg, and it will be the second complete Zord.

We are getting there with the MMPR team. We need the Yellow Ranger to fill out the main 5. We already have the Green Ranger, and what better way to end the MMPR team than with the White Ranger.

This time around, we only received two members of the In Space team. Next time we will get the other three members, including Black, Blue, and Pink. I am sure Bandai has to do some special thinking about this one. They do NOT want to release two characters of the same color in the same wave, even if they are from different shows. That could really mess some people up.

We are up to 10 Rangers so far in this new 6.5 inch scale. I did take a quick look at the first two Power Rangers movie figures that are a Toys R Us exclusive. Some birthday luck this weekend granted me the rest of that team. So we will get the other 4 members of that team out of the boxes and assemble the Megazord to see how it stacks up to the original team.

As always more pictures on my Flickr Page.  Link to the right —->

Red and Green Rangers – Power Rangers Legacy 6.5 inch figures – Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers

Bandai had a great idea for getting this line started. Go with a simple 5 figure line. If it works, great, if not, it is not the end of the world. They did the slightly larger scale figures with the Armored Rangers line. It started with Super Megaforce, and continued with the MMPR White Ranger, and then concluded with Dino Charge. It was not a lot of figures, and it was a bit spread out. There didn’t seem to be a definite timeline for the toys coming out. I would like to know if it was a success or not. Since I found one of the Dino Charge Rangers in the secondary market at ROSS, it didn’t seem to go all that well.

This line seems to be going well so far. It was a bit hard to get my hands on the MMPR figures. I ended up finding them about 50 miles from home at a Walmart when we went on a weekend trip. Now they are starting to pop up again. I wish retailers would get their acts together and get figures put out when they come in. This is a new product, so it wasn’t like they needed to get rid of old stock first.

On to the Rangers. First up, the Red Ranger.

This line does a good job of making strong figures, but not making them look like they are on steroids, like the Armored Ranger line. Red Ranger comes with his red and white Blade Blaster. The Blade Blaster is in blade mode, so it can be places in the holster that Jason wears. It seems like an easy thing to have created a second Blade Blaster in blaster mode. It isn’t the most effective looking weapon as the small blade. Jason also doesn’t come with his Power Sword. I heard some grumblings on the interweb that was talking about a weapons pack at some point, but I think we should have gotten the weapons right off.

Depending on wether you are a bigger fan of Austin St. John’s Jason Scott Lee or Steve Cardenas’ Rocky DeSantos, you will be seeing more of both characters coming up. Both will show up in the Zeo line as the Gold Ranger and Blue Ranger, respectively.

Red Ranger comes with the torso of Megazord (Dino Megazord). I can tell already that this guy is going to be great, once we get the rest of the MMPRs and their Zord parts.

Green Ranger

We are starting off with the evil Tommy Oliver. The Green Ranger is so iconic to the MMPR brand. He was brought on as a bad guy, turned good, lost his powers, and eventually became the leader of the Rangers as the white Ranger. Of course, then Jason David Frank went on to be the White Ninja Ranger, Red Zeo Ranger (V), Red Turbo Ranger, and the Black Dino Thunder Ranger. I am thinking it is a good possibility that we could more of Tommy Oliver. He will be showing up for sure in Spring 2017 as the White Ranger, and then again in late fall of 2017 when he makes a return as the Red Zeo Ranger.

Tommy comes with both the Sword of Darkness and the Dragon Dagger. As long as he has the Sword of Darkness, Tommy is evil. Thankfully he came with the Dragon Dagger as well, so he doesn’t always have to carry around the Sword of Darkness and be his grumpy brooding self. Boy was he a downer when he first showed up, no matter how hard Kimberly tried to make friends.

Both the Sword of Darkness and the Dragon Dagger are painted really nicely. The Dragon Dagger fits into a holster on Green Ranger’s hip.

With each figure I held and played with in Wave one, I became more excited for the future waves. The three Wind Rangers are really well done. They have great details, good weapons, and fantastic articulation.

Adding in the MMPR to this was was was genius. All it did was wet my appetite for more MMPR figures. They are going to serve those figures slowly over the next two waves, in conjunction with the In Space figures that will cover two waves.

Storm Megazord – Power Rangers Legacy 6.5 inch line – Build a Figure

With the new Power Rangers Legacy 6.5 inch line, you get a BAF part. The three parts of the Ninja Storm Rangers combine to create the Storm Megazord.

This guy is great looking. He is a bit taller than the Power Rangers, but they are definitely in a size category of their own. They do not fit in with the full size Zords, nor do they fit in with the posable Zords we saw from Megaforce.

What they will have going for them is quite a few of the figures when all is said and done. So far we have Storm Megazord. We will also have Dino Megazord from MMPR, since Red Ranger comes with the torso. It will be interesting to see how they package the rest of the teams. With the Ninja Storm Rangers it was easy, since there were three Rangers. One came with the torso, while the other two came with an arm and a leg each. Guess with a team of 5, each will get a single part.

Over the course of the next year, it looks like we will be getting:

Ninja Storm
Mighty Morphin’
In Space
Zeo
plus 4 mystery characters

It is a bit of a funny order, since they started with Ninja Storm (I think due to a 3-member team, plus 2 MMPR), then we go with 3 MMPR, to continue that team, along with 2 In Space. We will finish with the last 2 MMPR and 3 In Space. After that we will move into two waves of Zeo with each wave being 3 Zeo + 2 mystery.

So between just a month or so ago, up until late fall 2017, we will get 25 figures + 3 Zords (listed so far). By then we should be knee deep in Power Rangers Movie stuff too (will we see the movie characters in this scale too?). Not to mention we will also be getting regular merchandise from Ninja Steel, on the TV side of things. Power Rangers fans have a LOT to look forward to in the next year.
