Oh look, it’s that vehicle set…again. First we had Clobber and Crashbash, and now Overboard. This little T-Rex/dragon vehicle has used up it’s usefulness. Three versions of the same vehicle. I am done with it.
Originally known as Overkill, renamed to Overboard (probably because ‘kill’ was in his name), was a Mini-Cassette back in 1987. Thankfully they kept the color scheme. This guy was released 3 times, once as a cassette, and twice as repaints of Classics Grimlock. He always kept a blue and grey color scheme.
He becomes a T-Rex. Bla-bla-bla. Same as we have seen twice before. No nose horn like his G1 version.
He also becomes a terrible looking dragon. Bla-bla-bla.
And he becomes the same oddly shaped gun we have seen through two iterations.
But now, here is the head sculpt. Wait a minute. That is Crashbash’s head repainted. Gah!!! Not even the Titan Master head is different. I actually really like the blue helmet with white face a whole lot. It can go with a lot more figures than the hot pink of Crashbash.
Unless you are a completist, you can probably skip this guy. Unless you want another well colored Decepticon head. Overboard is definitely the weak point of this wave, with some really great figures. Ah well, can’t win them all.
