Stormshot – Transformers: Robots in Disguise – Warrior Class

Well, we have another Autobot flier to go along with Windblade. Stormshot here had the initial running name of Skyfire, which we know to be Jetfire, one of the most sought after Transformers of all time.

This time around, he is a little less impressive. He is so, so, so American, but I guess if you are from France, he would be so French, or from England, he would be so British. There are a lot of countries with Red, White and Blue in their flags. I know he is not Italian 😉

He is pretty standard for a Warrior Class figure in the Robots in Disguise line. As we have seen over 9 waves of this series, these are not Generation style figures. They tend to be more simplistic.

Stormshot comes with two guns. A handgun, and a rifle or shotgun. They fit into his hands, but do not have any other storage places.

The two guns can be combined to form a larger gun. I tried to work it so Stormshot could fit the two handles into both hands, but he just doesn’t bend that way.

In jet mode, he forms a jet. It looks like it could have been many different jets, while being a fictional jet at the same time. Since this is a RiD vehicle, the body parts don’t fold up all that well. In the front, the engine intakes have shoulder joints right in the middle of them. That would not happen in other series of Transformers. The guns mount to the wings. They do not look good, since they are not even close to the same size. That always hurts an appearance of a plane, when a figure comes with two different weapons. We are looking for aerodynamics here.

The two guns can once again form a larger weapon and attach under the nose of the jet. This is a somewhat better look, but ironically is not included in the directions.

From the top, the jet looks pretty good. The details are well done with body panels and the paint is well executed.

From the bottom, it looks like an old Transformer, where you can see the entire robot folded up down there. Even his face shows. Not great.

Overall, this guy fits in well with the rest of the figures in the Robots in Disguise line. They are okay, but severely overshadowed by what is going on in the Generations: Titans Return line right now. He is a fun one to get if you need an extra Autobot flier. There is a lack of flyers on their side.
