Deinosuchus Zord – Power Rangers Dino Super Charge

The Deinosuchus Zord is a toy line exclusive for Dino Super Charge, and I think that is a travesty. It works so well in toy form, it should have been in the show. For the US market, we are kind of going about this a bit backwards. There is a show in Japan, and then it is brought here and remade. In the meantime, Bandai America gets their ideas of what they are going to present in the toy world, and sometimes, like with this guy, they are really well done.

The Deinosuchus Zord is based off of the Dino Armor X, which gives the user the top half of the Deinosuchus mouth on one hand, and the bottom half of the mouth on the other hand. Extra power ensues, and the Rangers win.

He is a big orange crocodile. Roll him on a flat surface, and his mouth opens and closes. That is a fun little gimmick for a second before you move on to what matters most… combining with Rexy!

Insert the charger in his mouth, and the back spikes snap closed and it looks like he has two mouths, one at each end of his body.

There is a break in the middle. The front half has the male tabs to attach to the arm port of Dino Charge Megazord. The back half has female ports that can rotate around to reveal male ports to attach to the other arm.

Now we have the Dino Charge Megazord Deinosuchus Formation. Most formations with the T-Rex Zord require two additional Zords to complete a formation, since Rexy doesn’t come with his own arms. This is the only way, so far, for the Dino Charge Megazord to complete a formation with only one other Zord.

What more could a Zord ask for than two giant chomping jaws for arms? This is a great formation, and the color palate really works with the orange being introduced to the red/yellow combination of the T-Rex.
