Transformers: Generations – Autobot Scoops

Scoops is a rather bright Autobot.  Bright as in color, not brains.  I don’t know, maybe he is a smart guy too, but generally the construction equipment guys are breakers, not builders.  He comes with two sidekicks, Caliburst and Holepunch.  The two Targetmasters transform from robots to guns.  They have articulation in the shoulders, and that is about it.

The Targetmasters transform into guns.  Different guns, so that is nice.  As something called a Targetmaster, you would think they would become guns of some sort.  They are not the best transforming weapons we have seen.  They pretty much look like robots folded up with a barrel for a head.   I don’t love the figures, but I like the concept.   I think it is funny that Scoops would come with two of them.   I guess they had to make him a little more inviting, since he himself is not the best Transformer out there.  he is okay, with good articulation, but he looses points with me because of the giant wheels on his shoulders.

Then there is the Doubles Luge of the Targetmaster world.  The two “combine” to make one big weapon.  I think it looks less like a gun now, than when they were on their own.

Transform scoops into vehicle mode, and he is a bright orange loader.  The bucket on the front can move in all the right ways.   It is nice to see a vehicle with it’s own good articulation.  No cutting corners here.

In their downtime, Holepunch and Caliburst like to go for rides in the bucket.

A nice set overall.  I am really looking forward to the next wave as we continue with some more of the G1 figures reimagined with today’s articulation and detail.
